The platform integrates real-time data ingestion with a robust, flexible data model and an intuitive web interface. It’s designed to be highly dynamic and scalable, with an emphasis on handling complex hierarchies and time-sensitive parameters.

  • Product Attributes:

    Each product record includes key attributes such as ID, Description, Base UOM, Base Part, Product Class, Product Line, Product Group, Business Unit, Lead-Time, and Yield.
  • Hierarchical Parameter Maintenance:
    Yield and Lead-Time values can be maintained at any level—whether at the Product level, Base Part, Product Class, Product Line, or Product Group. This allows users to specify more granular data where needed.

  • Effective Date Ranges:
    The system supports time-based management by allowing users to define effective start (and optionally end) dates for each parameter. This makes it possible to track changes over time and use the correct values based on the current date or a specific period.

  • Flexible, Multi-Level Hierarchies:
    The platform uses a dynamic, self-referencing hierarchy (stored in a table like hierarchy_tree) to represent relationships between various business entities (e.g., Business Unit, Product Category, Technology Node, Product Line, Product).
  • Efficient Querying:
    The use of materialized views and closure tables ensures that even with a dynamically changing number of levels, queries can efficiently traverse these hierarchies and retrieve the most granular data available.
  • Granularity Rules:
    When retrieving parameters such as Yield or Lead-Time for a product, the system applies a “lowest granularity” rule: it starts at the product level and moves up the hierarchy (e.g., from Product → Base Part → Product Class → Product Line → Product Group) until it finds the applicable value for the given time.

  • Audit Trails:
    The platform includes audit tracking, capturing who changed what and when, and ensuring data integrity and accountability.
  • Output as JSON:
    For seamless integration with other systems, the solution can generate JSON outputs that encapsulate all the relevant product and supply chain data.

Extended Features

  • Location-Level Attributes:

    Beyond yield and cycle time, the platform supports managing additional attributes at the product location level.
  • Prioritized Lookup:
    When data exists at the location level, the system prioritizes those records over the general product-level values. This means that if a parameter is defined for a specific location (e.g., a manufacturing plant or distribution center), that value is used before falling back to the product-level parameter.

  • Layered Attribute Lookup:
    When introducing Bill of Materials (BOM) data, the lookup order for certain attributes will extend even further—from the BOM_Location level, then the BOM level, followed by the Product_Location level, and finally at the Product level. This layered approach ensures that the most relevant and specific data is always used.
